Hi everyone!

Finally i have a reason to come to this forum, and introduce myself

I am Pieter van Ginneken, now 42, married and i have a (almost) 15 year old son.
Been tinkering on cars since i was 19, had a lot of hobby cars.....
over the time i have had 4 classic mini's, a Mazda Mx5, 2 vauxhall astra twintops, a vauxhall cascada.
At the moment i own a Vauxhall Cascada, a Mini Cooper S convirtible (r52), a Triumph Street Triple R and a classic moped (aprilia AF1 Futura)

I am the owner of the dutch opel (vauxhall) convirtible club and website/forum www.twintop.nl
And i am also one of the few in the Netherlands that is able to repair the convertible roof of an Astra TwinTop or an Tigra TwinTop!

For around 13 years i have been "in contact" of a S2K and it's owner... One of my good friends is Sander Prinsen. Some of you already know him.
I have been joining him on quite a lot of s2k events, and also i have been attending the Mega Meets (and one euro meet in Belgium) with him.

Sander and i have quite the history together, i know him since i was born.... (no joke) and we have done a lot of things together involving hobby cars.

Some of you already know me, or have seen me at one of the previous mentioned events. Normally people notice me because i use my drones to take photo's and video's and after an event i post a video on youtube

Ever since Sander introduced me to the S2K world, i had the dream of once owning a S2K and joining the awsome club and it's events, but because the prices only went up and i had enough other hobbies.... this never happend...... untill this sunday!

Sander has bought a different S2K, and offered his current one to us!

So i talked to my wife about it..... and for the right price she agreed this would be a nice new chapter in our car hobby life!
Part of this was possible because we were already thinking about selling the Mini Cooper S....

SO....
now we own a S2K!!!!!!!!!
Because i already know the car since 2012, it was a no brainer for me....
test drive was not needed (i drove the car in september going to MM26) so after a bit of negotiating..... we hopped in the S2K for my first drive in it as an owner!!!!


So now me and my wife own it!!!
Really cool and this is only possible thanks to Sander!
We will take good care of the car, and Sander will still be seeing it a lot

First event we are joining is the Mega Meet in Northern Ireland in april 2026, my wife will be joining me

I don't have to much plans with it, maybe replace the interiour in the future, and a little bit of rust needs some attention, but nothing dramatic at the moment.
Otherwise, the car is perfect (for me ). It already has quite some upgrades!

 

Congrats, nice looking AP1! Looks like it has the headrest speakers, they make quite a difference in my opinion.

And yes, it does have the speakers. Without them you cant hear the music as your leg blocks the door speaker.... When Sandernadded them we could enjoy music again!
