Base vs Roadster
There are no "trim" levels for the S2000. They're all "base" models other than the rare (less than 900) removable hard top CR -- club racer -- model. And most CR models are wannabe racers as they have AC and Audio in them.
Other than the CRs these are all convertibles but calling them roadsters is acceptable. For years roadsters were open cars without windows or even tops. Stuff creeps in and 50 years ago roadsters had tops but side curtains (think TR3 or AH-100). Now any old two seat convertible is a "roadster" even with AC, power windows, and power top.
Picking a color for a S2000 is mostly the luck of the draw especially if you have mileage and model year requirements. Red and blue (excluded by CigarCity) comprise about 25% of the cars out there. Various shades of silver is the most common color (41%) distantly followed by black (16%). Yep, the under 40K miles '06 I picked up two months ago is "Honda Silver" (Silverstone), a nice match for my ourboard engine.

Thanks Chuck. Somehow my post took a turn away from my question. This answers my question. Ivery narrowed it down to a Black 01-03. Just waiting for the stars to aline with a new job and should be able to afford a new toy.
Honda made serious changes to the suspension and engine with the AP2 versions in 2004. Bigger wheels and tires as well. 2006 got drive-by-wire and stability control. Very early cars have plastic rear windows and in some climates are due for a roof replacement ($$).
The AP1 cars which rev to over 9000 rpm have a following but I fixed my search on '06 and later for the 2.2L engine (more low rpm torque) an stability control.
According to data I found here 57% of the black S2000s are AP1s.
I love black cars. Other guys black cars! A complete PITA to keep looking good.
