From the bay area and can't decide...
I'm debating if I should get a s2k(ap2 only. Undecided about hard or soft top) or a g35 coupe(05+). I love both cars and they are both great, apart from the $2.3k/6mo insurance for the g35. The other bad part is, this car (s2k or g35) will be financed. So far, I've been looking at cars that are listed in the bay area. I will look for some in SoCal and outside of Cali later on.
I do have money saved up for the down payment. hth do you even haggle at a dealership? I have a lot of people who haggle me at work and I just wan't to slap them in the face. Hence, why I don't haggle.
Only thing I'm worried about is my $8k total debt from student loans and credit card! Currently, full time student and part time working.
Am I being irresponsible? Should I just wait until I can pay in cash? In the meantime, I have a stock 240sx (dd only), and have no plans on modding it. Not sure if it matters, but this car is under my name and so is the insurance.
Any thoughts? Anyone still own both g35 and s2k?

Financing a car (especially an older one like a 05) will be very hard or next to impossible in the situation you described. I assume that you are 20-25 being a student. Is it necessary for you to buy a car? If so I would strongly recommend that you purchase something you can afford now.
Sorry to rain on your parade but buying AND financing something as expensive as a car without first tackling your debt is a mistake. Not to mention you are trying to do this while being a full-time student. That is no easy task.
