I know this is fairly relative in terms of person, place and history, so if anyone else in the San Francisco Bay Area has cheaper insurance under similar conditions, I would appreciate followups.

I was quoted $812/6mos for full coverage.

Clean record, licensed for 13 years, single, and insurance on a motorcycle (but only for the past 4 months). Quote was through Allstate. I've called most of the brokers (AIS/Geico/Eastwood/NRI) and they quoted prices in the $900 range.

Cheers

Im 23, have pretty much every discount I can get (Continuing Good Student, Multiple Policy, Good Driver, etc), $0 deductible on comprehensive and $500 deductible on Collision. Through State Farm, mines about $1250/year, compared to my previous car (1993LE Miata) which was $900 with less coverage.

I am in the Bay Area and I went with Geico. I have a clean driving record and have motorcycle insurance through Progressive. My rate is in the $700 range although I played around with the coverage. I have a $250 deductible.

A friend did tell me not to go with Geico for moral reasons - they apparently make great efforts to keep speed limits artificially low and to get laser detectors in the hands of the police.

Hope this helps.

here's my info:

30yo male, married, multiple car & renter's insurance policies, no tickets or warrants (yet)

$100/300/50 liability
deductible $500 w/glass coverage

'00 S2000 ~$350/6mo
'01 MDX ~$450/6mo

prudential is the company. you might want to try AAA. i was about to start a policy with them, but they wanted more history from past residence in NYC, so i didn't bother.

I pay 319.00/6 months. I have 3 cars, '98 Yukon Denali, '00 Civic EX and the '00 S2K. The total for all 3 is around 150.00/month.

Best I could do (on such short notice since I pick the car up tomorrow in Seattle) was $740/6mos from Allstate. Got them to knock it down from $812 since I won't be using it more than 8k a year as I use my motorcycle most of the time.

I think it may unavoidably a tad high since I had a lapse of insurance coverage when I didn't have a vehicle for a few months earlier this year. Damn bloodsuckers!
