Just picked up this salvage CR in Socal a couple weeks ago. It's had a rough history and is very far from perfect. Been stripped twice of CR parts and auctioned off in Illinois. One of the many previous owners spent time and money getting the parts replaced(it's had like 7 previous owners). The car had 94k miles on pickup. The wing is a carbon fiber rep. The guy I bought it from was not on here and had only put 4k miles on it during the time he owned it from 2019 till now. As far as I know the car has not been in any accidents. I've had 3 EF's and a b20b EJ coupe before this so this is a big step up. I've been wanting an S for so long and when I found a possible CR in my price range , I jumped on it. I plan to keep this car for as long as I live so resale value isn't an issue, it's more about owning a piece of Honda history when they made some of their best cars. Every time I get in this car it just puts a smile on my face
The first weekend of ownership consisted of changing all fluids except the brake fluid which will be done with a full brake job. Had to buy a low profile, extra long reach jack just to get it up on stands lol. I've found it's lowered on swift springs and has a quick drain valve for the oil. The mugen rep hardtop is in rough shape, the front passenger latch is stripped so a new hardtop has been ordered from Ballade. Yesterday I had a friend detail the car to get a nice protective layer. The plan is to do some autox events and a few track days next year once the car is caught up on maintenance. Super stoked to have this thing.
Awesome car. Glad to see the previous owner brought it back to being a proper CR and it is intended to be used. Hope you got a moderately good deal on it.
I went from FWD Hondas to the S2000 too. Awesome switch and the S2k is obviously cut from the same cloth, in a good way. Biggest differences, aside from the obvious, is the stiffer chassis feel and steering feel difference. The S2k's steering feel is precise, quick, and pretty good but the FWD racks provided more feel.
