The begining of the S2000

The SSM was a prototype in 1995. In 1999 Japan and Europe received their production cars. North American S2000's were first introduced in 2000.

The big change, if you can call it that, took place for '02:

Great thread!

The SSM Concept first appeared in 1995 at the Tokyo Motor Show. I know this for a fact because I still have the AutoWeek issue that first showed it off, although I will admit, some of the pages are stuck together... :LOL:

I've got loads of stuff - pics & technical - from when the S2000 was launched, but precious little about the SSM apart from a few pics which are readily available on the net - hence my interest in the AutoWeek article.
I'll have a trawl through my archive this weekend when I have a bit more time.

I found a guy on ebay who sells autoweek asked him about 1995 (or was it 4) "nothing that new" !!! :D
