Pacific Nothwest. I thought the same thing until I started looking in that area.

California.

East coast, North and Northwest get freezing/snow temperatures therefore Salt on the roads. I would never personally purchase a car from these regions due to horrible weather conditions that normally wreck havoc on paint. The undercarriage on these cars from these regions are full of rust... atleast from my observation from looking at cars that come from these areas.

IMHO, around here the vast majority of S2000's are not driven in conditions that require salted roads, in fact they are put away for the bad weather. Most owners coddle them and maintain the finish etc. Besides, these cars are not nearly as much fun with the top up and Hi Perf tires that don't work ( snow tires are an expensive PITA). The short driving season keeps the miles down.

There are definitely fewer around here in Upstate NY but the ones you find may be in better shape than the higher mileage sunbaked units in warmer climates.

sorry. Mykeh misread your post and was responding to another response.

That being said, it may be that a place like Cali may be a better place to own one, but that has lead to a greater population that reduces chance of getting a premium.

Up here there are a lot fewer but they command pretty good prices ( at least asking prices)
