BLK 03 From DFW area
Hello S2ki!
First off thank you if you have taken the time to open this up. This forum is a god send for information. So I just bought my first S2K. Berlina Black with 105,000 miles and I am the third owner. I am stoked because the first owner did a great job with maintenance. All serviced were done at a dealership at the correct time/mileage if not earlier... Anyhow, I am looking for everyones .02 here. I want to do some preventive maintenance and would like any suggestions you veterans have....
About me: My name is Mason, I am 26 and I love Honda. I've owned 3 integra's... 99 GSR (Lisa Marie) (Sold), 00' Type-R Replica (No Name and totalled), 94' LS shell and salvaged the B18c motor into this car (Currently for sale in MD)... I also own a 00 Honda Civic with 325,000 miles on it and now I own this wonderful AP1 named Black Betty... I don't have any intention of doing any modifications besides looking for a hardtop and some rims. Simply enough, I bought this car because it is nothing more than a performance sports car. It doesn't have a review camera or a GPS Navigation Bluetooth quantum light speed accelerator with twenty different buttons.
I am only going to use this oil for 3K miles before Ill go full syn with Honda Oil unless there is a better recommendation (Question #1). What is left on my list is to have the valve clearance checked, change the spark plugs, and change the coolant. Is there anything else you recommend to check out (?#2) Also, what spark plugs to go for (?#3), I've read stock are best, but i've also read NGK are commonly used.
Also, where can I find meet up groups for the Dallas Fort Worth area if any? Please excuse these redundant questions, but what I have read is dated and the times are a changing...

You can change back and forth from synthetic to dino oil at whim, the engine doesn't care. With 105K miles you may find one brand or type has less loss than others. At the intervals most here change their oil you can probably use baby oil without problems
.
Stock plugs are NGK PFR7G-11S (stock No. 7772) and a couple of others. I just replaced the OEM Denso plugs in my AP2 with them when I checked the valve settings.
