Default Bought a new 2000i

Greetings.
I got a good deal on a new 2000i, so I gave it to my new wife as a wedding gift.

We took it on our honeymoon.
We had "Just Married" put on the rear window at a vinyl shop.(removed it when we got home of course).
Nice that the trunk can hold luggage with the top down.

We got up to about 110 mph on the way to 'Vegas for a very short blast.
Averaged about 19 mpg for the entire trip.

How fast will a stock s2000i go?
Another owner told us 188mph, I can't be that lucky, I don't buy that,, but it's fast enough.
'Vegas at nite is a fun place with the top down.

Nice car, wouldn't change a thing about it. seems like a nice forum too.
Only one real question:
The passenger top latch rattles with the top up.
Should the dealer adjust that, or is it an easy fix I can do?

Did you get a new S2000 or a new one for you? Either way congrads on the car they are a blast to drive. Top speed is bout mid 150s depending on conditions. Be safe!

Congrats! Welcome aboard!

I presume you mean S2000, and not 2000i (I don't think there's such a model).

What a fantastic wedding gift! Wow!!!

Oh, depending on the year (2000 - 2003) be sure to watch the dipstick at every fill up. Our early models tended to burn some oil (normally).

The S2000i is nice, but I prefer the S2000RS model. That's the one that has a 180mph top speed. The S2000i only tops out at 162.

But in order to get the S2000i above 140mph, you have to depress the "sport" button in the "secret" compartment, it reconfigures the underbody spoilers for less drag and higher top speed.

You're all streets ahead of me.
Yeah, it's a S2000.
Nice to just sit in it and the teriffic smell!!
Thanks for nice responses.
It really is for her.
The wife is a hardworking nurse, that never gets herself anything, always thinking of others.
So this gift means a lot to her.
I love driving it, but it's all hers.
Looking forward to checking out the forums.
