Default A New Car

Hello, I am new here. I just got a S2000 for christmas My husband and I were shopping in DC when one drove by and he said "What do you think of that car? I said "its cute." He asked if I would drive some thing like that and I said "sure" then he said "hey, instead of buying you a bunch of presents why don't I buy you one of those." P.J.s or a car hmm? I thought he was jokeing! I had a 2001 Accord that I loved.
He called our dealer and two days later they had a car, we went to check it out. That was all it took, I was in love. Now, if only I could drive it. Sure

Thanks Guys, I am enjoying the car (when I get to drive it). It has been ten years since i I have driven with a stick so I have been taking it easy, the second day I drove it I took it out on the beltway trial by fire. It was the first time I ever drove a car just for fun. We have alot of country roads down here so it was great that first week with the top down. We look forward to meeting you all and want to thank you for all the information we have read on this site.

Congrats...and a definite suggestion to a [somewhat]-new-to-stick owner...

Remember...this ain't your last Honda ... Or likely the one before that or the one before that either. This is a rear wheel drive Honda with teeth. Since you're coming into possession of this, and at this cold time of the year (when our S-02s are notoriously non-sticky in the cold) just want to point out that it can be somewhat easy to over-apply power and have this car's rear end break out on you if the tires have not warmed up on the road first. Last place you want to be with your new S2000 is in a ditch

With that said...please...PLEASE...don't make me out to be a fuddy-duddy . I know you'll absolutely love this car's soul . Hope I get to meet you and your excellent hubby someday soon.

BTW...tell us your name if you don't mind. I'm Dave .

Welcome to the S2000, S2Ki, and most importantly the Mid Atlantic ! This is one very friendly community, so do not be afraid to voice in anywhere you want.

I just met a few of the Marylanders last night, and you have some fantastic people up there!

Our next meet is the Mid-A Mod Day meet, which you already know, but if you can make it down we'd love to have ya - and you could learn quite a bit about your new car.

Have fun and Drive Safe,
Alex

Wow...nice present! Welcome to Mid-A and enjoy your car. I second and third the caution on cold winter driving. Take it easy out there until you get used to the car. It can get away from you if you aren't careful. You've got lots of help out here if you need it, and lots of info on the car on the site. Have fun and hope to meet you soon!
