Default Brought home another car

This will be car number 6 in the fleet. All time record was 7 but I bought a house so I sold off the old fleet. But here she is.

It’s in rough shape. But I plan on it being a replacement for my old Miata I was talked into selling and wish I never did. Basically I plan on it being a car I don’t need to worry about and won’t feel hurt if I break it. Planning on finally doing some track days.

First on the list is get the car running right, get rid of CEL, was told something about the throttle position sensor and was handed an intake elbow. Then brakes, and do valve retainers. I also want to repaint it, low priority, but my old neighbor has a paint booth in his back yard and paint it cheap.

Brother bought it like maybe 12ish years ago. It was a salvage title already, guy he bought it from said the bumper and trunk got pushed in. Besides the top car was in great shape. My bother is not a car person so I was usually always the person to work on it, and I noticed some red paint on the front fender under the hood. So previous damage I have no idea. I also suspect it spent time under water or a long time in a salvage yard as under every panel it’s completely caked in fine dust. Much like my old f150 that was a work truck. Years of neglect brought it to this point, he had dreams to do something with it but again, he not a car person. Final straw was one someone hit his truck, his truck then rolled up the side walk and took out his bumper. So now I’m the owner for a total of $900. Although insurance paid him out like $5000.

Not really an update. Rear window isn’t really attached. It started raining yesterday. So today I moved stuff around in the garage to fit the Honda in there also.

Garage is a complete disaster as I didn’t really organize. Just moved things so it would fit. My 2 year old had fun helping and moving all the cars though.

I’m pretty sure it’s an 01. I didn’t really care about details as it’s a running driving s2000 for an absolute deal. Just needs a jump start to turn on, but the battery is only about 8 months old so probably just needs a good charge.
