Yeah pretty easy to do yourself. I had a fellow s2ki member install my Alpine head unit because I was uncertain as well. 5 minutes later it was in and I was embarrassed for wasted their time.
By the way, great decision on getting the Alpine Head Unit over the lights. A great investment. And might I add you should look into the Modfry adapter so that your dashboard controls are still usable. It is compatible with Alpines.

Nice MY05, low miles and it looks very clean! Now you just need to take those wheels off and put some AP2 V1, V2 or maybe even some CR wheels on there. Stock or near stock look FTW!!! Oh yeah, don't forget to remove your CDV, assuming your clutch hasn't already been cooked because of it...
