Default Changing worlds.

Just wanted to say hello to everyone. I just picked up a 01' S2000 with 96k for $5,350.00 from auction with a slight bumper hit. I've been around Honda's a lot, but my past cars we Audi A6, BMW 7-SERIES and 5-SERIES (Current) so all V8 Sedans that aren't really reliable and do not get good MPGs. It's been sorta hell owning these cars so thats why I called it quits. I could say they are the best cars, up until it needs so many things. The Audi I rebuilt the transmission, the 7-SERIES I rebuilt the suspension and little engine work but had a slipping reverse. Than the 5-SERIES that I currently own was the end to it for me as I rebuilt the motor, replaced entire driveline, entire cooling and such and she still needs work. I'm burnt, growing up and these cars are nice but become a PITA. Specially when you can't go more than 2 weeks without a disabling break down. So I saw the S2000 in the auction and registered, sure enough I won it. The cons are a leaky valve-cover gasket and clutch thats completely gone and also radio WAS an issue since it needed the code but I called the dealer, gave them the radio serial and got the code right over the phone and now its working. Its got a great stock sound. But good news is that I already have a new OEM clutch kit in the works and valve-cover gasket tomorrow.

I am a DIYer so I'll attempt to go ahead and replace the clutch myself with jack stands. I have all the tools, parts, and time. I can not wait to drive this car. I've had a greater urge to drive this over any car I've owned. To me, its got the handling of the BMW.. enough power as well and yet its a whole helluva lot more reliable and the mpgs. Compared 5-SERIES (15CTY - 22HWY) vs (20CTY - 30HWY) its perfect for me. Plus I'm not filling up 21 gallons like my bimmer. I'll eventually get back into a BM but in a long time, thats for sure. So yeah thats my story.. Can not wait to unregister the BM, insurance.. and transfer it over to the S2K.

This is why i recommend people to stay away from euros. Good job on finally buying a car worth owning.

I just picked up a 01 with 66k miles on it today for 4340 out the auction lot but with a lot more damage than just a bumper hit. Will cost me a good bit to fix up, but it's been kept up very well. I am currently trying to find out if the last owner was here somehow.

No frame damage at all though

It was and wasn't worth it. But that uncertainty made me sell.

there's absolutely nothing wrong with BMWs and euros in general if you just keep up with regular maintenance.
and an e46 m3 and the like are definitely worth owning...
