I don't wave at all. I just don't get it. That's the one thing I don't miss about not having a motorcycle. The little wave always seemed lame to me.
Damn party pooper.

Funny thing however - I have lost count of how many times I have pulled up to an intersection next to some dude in his 18 mile high diesel Ram truck with dual rear wheels and all thinking what a jerk he probably is only to turn around to hear the driver tell me what a neat car I am driving.

Sometimes it's hard to judge a book by it's cover.....

same here ... I've had quite a lot of drivers in beatened up trucks/pickups or in SUVs giving me thumbs up for the car. When they are friendly, I give them a friendly wave back

Weird.

Same thing happened to me at a gas station. I overheard a guy in a Ram 2500 (not a dually, though) admiring my S2000.

Along the north coast area of Los Angeles (includes Malibu) we gotta lot of roadster types.
Too many to wave at frankly.
I wave at every S I see in time to do so.
Some don't wave back but most do.
I wish we had more waves and such between roadsters 'cause I assume we all enjoy the same feelings driving.
Snobbery comes into play as LA drivers often judge each other by the price of the car they are driving I sense.
Oddly, the supercar owners are more friendly then the Z and Porsche owners.
Maybe they know that money isn't everything and those with 'the complex' are still measuring themselves all the time.
I drive a couple of other cars and know when I'm driving the most expensive car I tend to associate with the ordinary man.
Being humble is appropriate as to have some wealth is a blessing that at the end of the day is not really fair.

I wave at most 2 seater roadsters and normally get a wave back. Last S I saw gave me a quick headlight flash as he passed and I returned one (near Houston).

I scared the crap out of a hottie in a Silverstone today. In traffic she was making a left in the intersection I was stopped at. I honked loud enough to get everyones attention, including hers, who I promptly smiled/waved. Got the wave back too!

I actually feel bad if I realize that I've been cruising on the highway, not paying attention to the oncoming side. I wonder if there's S's passing by waving at me, that I'm ignoring

The "friendliest" people around here are those that drive older roadsters like MGs, Triumphs etc.

In the 5 months I've owned my S I always get waves (and smiles) from other S drivers. It's the kind of wave (and smile) that we know something everyone else (on the road) doesn't.
