Default Dealership Car

Hi guys,

My friend is on the verge of purchasing a Laguna Blue s2000, at the Costa mesa dealership, but the drawback is the high mileage on the s2000 (300 miles)

The dealer is selling for 34OTD, but do you feel this price is too high for a new car that has been driven 300miles?? If so, how much should I ask for?

BTW: The car has a couple of small scratches around the body, but other than that it seems to be in new condition.

Advice??

Thanks

300 miles is nothing! As far as I know, 34k is a pretty good price out the door, but I haven't bought a new S2000 recently. I would just inspect it carefully and see if anything is wrong with it.

My guess is it was a demo car, and during the 300 miles the car was beat on by every salesman, mechanic, and lot boy. The interior will look like new, but the mechanicals and drivetrain need a thorough inspection. I probably wouldn't buy it, but I haven't seen the car in person. Buyer beware and good luck.

He has requested a vehicle same color, and model to be transferred from another dealership.

Is this possible?

Yes, it's a simple dealer-exchange. IMO, don't take the 300-mile car. I got mine with 5.8 miles on the odometer.

hey, you are buying a new car, get a warpped up one if you can

if it was me, i wouldnt pay 34 k otd for a brand new s2000 that has 300 miles and scracthes.

new off the lot should be around 50 miles!
and guess what, new cars shouldn't have any scratches.

34k otd isn't exactly the best deal either, so i m sure your friend can find another one through the same or different dealer.

Thanks,

Is this car new or used? if it's used, you should get way less. If it's new, i'd try to do the dealership car swap. Also ask them what their test driving policies are. I know some dealers in my area are very very good about not allowing test drivers to push the car. Others don't care...so i'd ask about that to get a better idea of how the car was driven.

34k OTD is good for a 2007 brand new...that's pretty much @ invoice. (31.9k invoice + taxes + fees ~ 34k)

I paid 31K+TTL for my yellow 2007 which was still wraped in plastic and had soming like 3 miles on the ODO. I also got LoJack "Early Warning" thrown in at that price (after lots intense haggling).

he is negotiating for 33.5 OTD. Hopefully a car can be transfered to the dealership he is buying from.

He fell in love with the blue, when he saw it in person. You could actually see his eyes sparkle from the beauty of the car lol.

Thanks for your input guys.
