Dealership Car
I was offered a 2007 S2K last year for 34K OTD, you have to do better than that on that car with 300Miles and a "few scratches". The new S2K have a 5year/60,000 mile power train warranty that should give you some peace of mind.
great info guys!
The salesman arranged an appointment for me to go see him this evening; guess what?.............I didn't go. I was given 34 OTD, and now 35.5 OTD which is total BS in my opinion.
33.5 is what I am looking for, and I would very happy if I got this deal. I do not low ball the salesman, because I know they might have a family to support which I totally respect.

yo,
33.5 is about the right price in So Cal. cuz i know ppl in the bay area are paying about 34k otd, and we have to pay a premium too. so 33.5 should be about right.
but make sure you get a brand new one. that 300 miles one has some concerns.

i hope i don't come off as being rude, but i'll be realistic:
I live in southern cal too (san diego) and have been too every dealer in this area trying to find a good deal.
Bottom line: 34 OTD is already selling at almost no gain for the dealer, so i wouldn't complain about it. However, in your case, i'd wait til another car came around cuz that one sounds like it's beat up. Just wait for another one, and get that with what you are being offered right now.
I've spoken with a couple fleet managers in the area, and they're not sales people, so they're not looking for commssion. Here's what happened wiith each of them: they threw down an excel sheet that had all the numbers...invoice pricing on every vehicle, shipping costs, everything. First time i went to see a fleet manager, he was straight up said he'd give me the car @ invoice (31.9k) which totaled to about 34k after taxes and fees.
If you don't want to put up with BS, talk to a fleet manager and save urself the trouble a salesman and his constant "let me ask my sales manager if we can do that for you" line. Just go straight to the top and schedule an appointment with the FM...it's as easy as calling the CS rep.
Reality check: For a new 2007 s2k in southern cal, 34k is as good as it's gonna get. U'll hear random stories about ppl getting it for less, but that's for one of two reasons (or both o.O):
1) they dont' live in california where state tax is 7.75% so their OTD prices are lower.
2) they were lucky enough to get a dumb salesman that offered them a price below the value of the car. Dealership policy says that the salesperson is obligated to sell at the lowest amount they quoted...if he slips and says "32k OTD" (which WONT happen in southern cal for a new '07...i already tried lots of times), then he made a mistake and he'll probably get the pink slip as soon as he's closed out the deal with you.
Summary:
*the car u're looking at isn't in the best "new car" condition. wait for a new shipment or work out a dealer trade...or just go somewhere else.
*34k OTD is already good. Save u're time and just take it knowing that u got a good deal. The best all ur haggling beyond that will get u is one less month of car payment =P
