Talking The DIfference between 2000 and 2005 ?

Hi guys im pretty new to this forum and to S2000s ,,,im trading in my RSX-S for a S2000, but i dont want to just jump on one and get it ,,,im trying to find out which year is the best build and what do they come with ,what should i look out for and what not, do they have any improvment during the years ......Im sorry for the newby questions' ,,,please dont flame me for the stuped q's ,im just hear to learn ,,,Thanks

How about the diffirential issues ,,,i hear that a lot of s2k's have some kinda problem going on with the differencial ,,,if there is some info on here that i cant find ,i would really apriciate to know about it............THanks

Mike,

There's no problem with the differential. However, if you expect to do a lot of burnouts and high-RPM launches, expect some trouble. The car is really not designed for that kind of use.

Carving up a windy road.... That's what it's all about.

There's lots of differences, mostly small, between MY00-MY04. MY04-MY05 were the introduction of the 2.2L engine. MY06 has new engine controls, including drive-by-wire throttle.

yah man im not really interested into doing burnouts and i dont launch my car at high rpm's like that ,,,im really more interested in autocros and driffting,,,but just friends of mine have been saying ..oh s2000 rear diff. is weak or some bs like that ,,so i was just seen what u guys think about it since u guys r driving them and have more experiance ,,,but thanks for the info again.......

Well, Mike, the diff and the clutch will be "weak" points if you're going to drift the car on a track. Really, I don't think the S has enough power to be a superior drifter, but I'm speaking from some ignorance here. Other folks may have more informed opinions.

Auto-x? This car is da' bomb for auto-x. Few other cars can really measure up.

Thanks ,,,,,,,,im thinkin of replacing the clutch as soon as i can after i get the car ,than i have plans on geting exoust and a race header ,and than saving up for ITB's ,and i wanted to ask does Hondata make anything for s2000 i couldnt find anything , if not im just gonna go with the AEM Stand alone ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,THanks
