If it isn't your daily driver, definitely go for the e30 M3. That car is in a league of it's own. Might not be the fastest in the straights, but on a track it is deadly. Also the value of those are going up like crazy. It will be worth twice what you pay now in 5-10 years, and they are super rare. Get the e30 M3, and pick up an AP1 when you get the spare money in the future.

i my opinion, and some people may disagree, but i don't take anything barrett jackson says seriously. those auctions do not represent a vehicle's actual street value. barrett jackson is a reality show with a bunch of rich people paying way over what a car is worth because they are too lazy to go out and find one for themselves. it's a lot of hype and competitive ego building that drives the prices of those cars up. good for you though becuase you actually know something about the vehicles you are looking at.

When I was shopping for a car. I wanted something a little older feeling. I was an owner of a Civic SI and needed to grow up and get out of the "modding" scene. So I was looking into a M3 but not the E30. It was the next model up. To make a long story short. I just got the S2000, lol.
Overall, I heard owning a BMW was expensive to maintain. Being a owner of 2 honda's. Wouldnt hurt to continue the trend. I am comfortable with hondas.
Also it all depends if you are roadster guy or a coupe guy. I am single and have no kids so this is my DD and don't much to worry. I wish I had the comfort for mor room. But driving a S gives you the feeling you are on a go cart. You cannot say go carts are not fun, lol.
