Finally...
Hello all!!!
The day has finally came. I took delivery of my S2000 this afternoon. 5.8 miles on it.
I've been
for the S2k ever since it came out, but it remained out of my grasp for the last six years. I just couldn't stop smiling on my
home with this big
on my face. I just can't wait to finish breaking it in so I could

I'll post pics when I get time to take some. Now I have to get back to the owner's manual. Only through p. 37 as of now. hehehe
BTW, found the secret compartment.
It's in the Quick Start Guide.

Congrats Frosty!; Very nice color, it was my second choice. I can identify with having to wait. It makes it even more special! I see you are starting off on the right "page"... it's amazing how many questions you can answer yourself, just by reading the owner's manual! Enjoy and take it E-Z.
Wilkommen,
I've had my NFR S2K for 5 weeks and 2500 miles... no regrets, and I've become addicted to the high revs and smooth gearbox.
In my case the dealer didn't remove the hard rubber spring spacers, which adveresely impacted safety, ride height and quality. Luckily, I noticed I had a much larger gap than my neighbor between the top of the tire and the wheel well...
Search the board for pics/etc.
Enjoy!

Alexei, definitely look through the intro FAQ thread. APparently, your dealer is one of many who don't know the car. You might find something else in our FAQ thread about car checkout that was missed.
Check your air and oil.

Got a noob question....
I know the break-in period is 600 miles and I should not exceed 5500 rpm. My question: Can I bring it up to the rev limiter - ok, too extreme - say the redline when the mileage hits 600.1???
Or should I gradually bring my shift points up to the redline as the engine gets more mileage on it?
Just want to know what you all think about on that point.

Frosty,
The factory says it's safe to drive your engine as-advertised after 600 mi. I'd recommend occasional, brief trips to redline for a couple hundred miles (more for your safety than for break in) before you go totally ape...
IIRC, the best way to break an engine in is to vary the revs a lot. By going in and out of VTEC, you should help seat the valves as best they can. That's a personal opinion though.
Again, the factory says "go for it."

I still remember that first smile on my face when taking the new S home, just over a year ago!
And you know the good part, that smile keeps coming back every time I take her out for a VTEC spin, even after a year
So I think you're in for a lot of
's to come!!!

I have to make a U-turn right before I get to my workplace's parking lot. The other day I made the U in the S in 2nd gear, just heel-and-toed from 3rd, and the rear went wide a bit. VSA didn't kick in though. It was fun, but it also reminded me that I still have to learn the S.
On another note. Is it me or the OEM RE050 tires suck in the wet? Just came back from dropping my wife at work (need excuse to drive the S) and it was raining outside. The rear tires spun a little when I was starting from dead stop. I mean, how much torque does the F22C put out around 1500 rpm??? Take for granted the road is wet, but still...
I might get the Goodyear Eagel F1 GS-D3 that I had on the Jetta. That thing is great in the wet. Nevertheless, I still have to be careful with a RWD car.
