Finally picked up and S
Hello everyone. My name is William and I am a proud new owner of a 2004 Silverstone/ Black-red S2000. I must say that I absolutely in love with the car.
It's funny because I never saw myself owning one until about 2 months ago. I guess it is because I saw to many kids driving the car (thus considered a crotch rocket little ricer car) and because I'm a fan of torque. I remember driving one about 3 years ago and was completely unimpressed.
I suppose over the last 3 years, my views have changed, i saw the car less and less, and I began to it began to have some appeal. 2 months ago, I was phed up with my "sports sedan" and wanted a real sports car, more so--a roadster, so I began researching and became convinced that the S2K was the best sports car under 50K. I had to have one.
My past cars:
-93 Mazda 626 (great car back in the day)
-91 Nissan 240sx hatchback (fun but totaled it)
-93 Nissan 240sx hatchback (18K spent on mods--eventually 300whp/262wtq)
-2000 BMW 323I w/sport package (Nice car but bad choice by me- spent several grand on mods only to lose it all because I sold it after a year plus took a huge hit with depreciation and all)
With my history, I'd say I have plenty of automotive experience. That being said, the S2K is a well crafted car that has stood and will continue to stand the test of time. One thing to note is that, despite my limited time behind the wheel (picked it up last Friday), it is easy to see that it takes some time to really learn how to drive the car. Sure anyone can row through the gears and make it move in a straight line but it takes some time to master the turns and be able to really use this car to its full potential. The Nissan 350Z is much easier to drive fast. This learning process really appeals to me because I wont be bored quickly (which I usually am--key example: the E46 Bimmer).
Anyways, I don't want to bore you guys any further but I do look foward to having some interesting conversation with you guys.
