Default Future Owner From Florida!

Hello all! I’ve been a lurker on these forums for some time now and I’ve finally decided to register. I’m quite new to the car scene when it comes to the technical side of things but am no stranger to the environment. I've been a fan of automobiles ever since I was kid. I spent many of days watching nascar on my television. Coming up on my twentieth birthday I am finally at the stage where I really can pursue my dreams. Unfortunately I do not currently own an S2000 but soon I will be an owner! The Honda S2000 really drew me in with its history and prestige. Its a vehicle that you can't help but admire and love. I have already written many plans for the car (and bought some parts as well) and I cannot wait to own it. Looking forward to learning more about this car and interacting with the wonderful lads here on this forum.

I guess as part of my introduction I should go ahead and ask my first question. Upon purchasing my car I will be ordering wheels and coilovers. The wheels I plan to purchase are sixteen inch Klutch Republik SL1s. I plan on running a quite low set up (thankfully a daily seven-to-ten mile commute from home to college allows me to live such a lifestyle). As of now Klutch only has the wheels available in sizes 16x8 and 9 in offsets of 15,17,18, and 20. I was wondering if I could (with some fender work I reckon) fit these wheels on the S2k and which offset and size would be best for my car and what tires (and tire size) would be best for these wheels?

Please don't do this.

Gotta agree with Ricky. If you're going to daily the car keep it stock at first until you get to know it, then make improvements. But as you'll find out, the car comes very well assembled in stock form.

If you truly admire the S2000, don't put those wheels and coilovers on your car. Much better options, but learn the car first.

Welcome. And I'd just cut the springs and put on some Diablos in 16 x 6.5" all around. 185/65/16 Nankangs. Booyah! So Extreme!!!

I'm kidding. Keep it stock and enjoy it in pure form. Then adjust to your liking.

Why the wheels? Why coilovers? What are your plans for the S? Have you actually driven an S before? Why are you so sure you need coilovers? Are you sure the wheels will fit the S?

Yes, I have driven one. About the wheels, I like the mesh style. I'm unsure about how the fitment will be achieved, hence my question. I'm just looking at options. I'm planning to run rather low to fit the theme of my build so I will need coilovers. My plans for the car will be heavily inspired by Japan's shakotan style (equivalent to Stance here in the States) so I will be taking a lot of design cues from well known vehicles of that movement.
