Why would the clutch need to be replaced after 44K?

I have 88K on mine and we have guys in the area who track/autox there cars pushing 120-160K on original clutch.

Something doesn't add up.

I agree. Look into the clutch claim. They may be lying to sweeten the deal. 44k is too early to need a clutch.

I'm at 66k and my clutch suddenly let go, well actually I think it's the pressure plate, so these things do happen.

It's been down for 3 weeks or more and there's simply no time to work on it till after the holidays.

Good luck on your NEW car. 44k sounds as if it's been a garage queen which says it's probably in very good condition.

Congrats. I would definitely be a bit concerned as to why the clutch needed to be replaced however..
I am at 138k miles and supercharged and on stock clutch still..
