well just for comparison, last april i bought my 01 for 21K. had 18,600 miles and was certified.
well i just looked at the KBB (for what it's worth), Private party (excellent condition) is 16k, (good) is 15k, and (fair) is 13,800. 14k OBO seems a bit low but he might just be selling it a little over what he was offered as a Trade-in?
get pictures and get as much info on the car as possible. A test drive would be good but if it's too far for you to test drive, see if someone in that local area would be willing to give it a test for you.
good luck

I wouldn't buy it until I checked the title (salvage, etc) and I had a really good mechanic look at it.
$14k is too much to blow on a money pit. If that thing as a salvage title ir needs $8k in repairs you're gonna get screwed.
Hope it works out for you though, could be a great deal. They happen occasionally.

Do you think a 2001 s2000 with 28k miles on the car (3,300 on engine that was replaced because of the spark plug dilemma) for $18,000 is too good to be true? (Carfax ran clean, only thing that was weird is there was no indication of registration on the carfax (most carfax reports say "Registered for personal use".))
