Congratulations on the new ride! If you are referring to Allen TX, well I learned the hard way years ago, !

Also, been pulled over for it being tucked in the corner of windshield with less than a half of an inch of the first letter obscured by the black micro dots. Got stopped once for a license plate frame covering the top part of “TEXAS!”

I live in Plano and fortunately have had only warnings. See the following link:

https://www.dps.texas.gov/rsd/vi/misc/faq/viFAQ.htm

Hope this helps and welcome to the forum!

Michael

Traffic stops are a gold mine for police. Amazing the number of folks stopped for something as stupid as a missing tail light (or as vain as no front license plate) who have arrest warrants, cars full of illegal drugs, or who are drunk or high. It's just so easy!

Years ago I wheeled a big black Impala SS for work. At the time I sported a buzz cut and aviators.

When I rolled up behind a beat up van on I79 in PA, I didn't notice no rear plate but the driver noticed me.

He was driving too slow so I pulled up beside him and he was gesticulating and waving a plate in his hand.

I caught on, and stared back at him for what must have seemed a long moment.

Finally I gave him a thumbs up and watched him jump for joy as I pulled away.

Made the day for both of us

No front plates in Pennsylvania. I know a guy in Ohio with a S2000 who titled and tagged it in PA where he also had property.

I just got a ticket in plano alittle over a month ago, so now I can't drive the 2k until my 90 days is up. Sucks! Almost got out of it....told the cop our lab pup got outta back yard and was running around the neighborhood.
That's worked for me before--you never know when the cop's a dog lover.

I'm curious. The car impounded for 30 days? You wrote this from jail? Only two reasons I can see that prevents driving the car. (Note the difference between "can't" and "shouldn't".) Still curious, though.

No, sorry for the confusion... I can drive the car but I can't drive it hard like I want to since I'm on the deferred adjudication. I have to go 90 days after paying ticket without another ticket or any little thing I could get stopped for or it goes on my record and my insurance goes up.
