Post Greets From New Florida S2k Owner!

05 Silverstone, 21,500 miles (and counting ). Been a lurker for a while, finally an owner! 6'2" and love to do triathlons. After considering and testing Civic SI (already a Civic owner), VW GTI (too refined), Cooper S (fun, great motor, but not terribly practical, cheap, just didn't knock my socks off), MazdaSpeed3 (not the new body-style, maybe my next daily driver), C5 Z06 (couldn't quite afford), early Boxster (scared off by $$ maintence), but decided nothing was close to greatness of the S2000!

After wanting the S2000 since I fist saw it 10 years ago, now I just turned 26 and could finally afford one in the condition I wanted. I had been searching and lurking these forums for a while, but ended up randomly finding my car on cars.com up in Aiken SC. Private party, 2 owner, owned by one of the nicest older gentleman I've met. Not my favorite color, but I love it in person (and now that i own it )

He bought it with 16,000 miles, and over 3 years only put around 5,000 on it. Garaged, bone stock, and in great condition, 2 minor dings on the passenger side. 05 Seats and PERFECT AP2V1 Wheels FTW!! Split the 300 miles back half and half top-down/top-up.

What a blast to drive! Unreal how smooth she cruises, and how addictive getting on it can be!

Anyway, here's one shot of her:

Me and My Dad,

In no particular order I'd like to:
Get an OEM lip (and get rid of the front license bracket)
Get the car about 1" lower (especially the back). The suspension is great stock though, so maybe springs?
K&N FIPK (stock intake is too quiet)
Chase Race receiver hitch so i can get a nice bike rack that wont hurt the car!
Was thinking about lower seat rails, but then i read this! https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=703146

I've got a 98 Civic sedan that i'm keeping for rainy days and triathlon duty. Anyway, love the site, the car, happy motoring!!

Congrats. As for the front, take a look around the site, as there are several different options, both stock and aftermarket. As for lowering, springs is a good, low-cost way to improve appearance but it will change up your ride a bit. Can't help much on seat rails and hitch but from what I've read on these boards, FLA = seat locks.

Congrats and welcome!

I'd recommend Eibach springs for the drop you're wanting--I just had them installed and it gives about a 2 "finger gap" all around which looks good, and that way you're not slammed so you shouldn't have to worry about scraping on everything and rubbing your fenders

Thanks to all for the welcomes and kind words!

I'll have to PM you if you ever use your S for race transport!

Haven't seen any bad experiences here with the Eibach pro kit, will look into it more, thanks!

No need to PM. I hauled the bike on the S2000 once (I have a fork mount upright removable trunk rack). Unfortunately I had a passenger so all my gear went in to the trunk...therefore I had to remove the rack to get to the gear. It is not the right car for multi sport athletes. It can be done, easily if you go by yourself and use the passenger seat for your gear. Or get a trailer hitch bike mount.

I use the wife's Accord now when I haul the bike.

Good Luck.
