not an owner ....yet. been looking for the "right" one for about 6 months.
low miles (20-30K) stock.
have 1 question.
looking at an 08. according to what i can find only 2591 were built. Im looking at one that the VIN ends in 2600. 7/08. what gives?
lots of knowing people out here, maybe someone can guide me on this

Only 2591 were imported to the USA. Worldwide production will be higher. VIN is on the 10 VIN stickers and stamped in to the firewall. Photos will confirm.

Got the whole VIN?

Legit VIN for a 2008. Red -- like the photos.

If you don't have the real CarFax put the VIN in mycarfax dot com which shows its originally sold in Georgia and spent the last 12+ years in Massachusetts -- hope it wasn't driven in the winter on salted roads. Cambridge Honda shows lots of annual service and state inspections. Service mileage tracks. Appears well maintained.

Only 345 "2009" models show imported so this (your? -- spending your money ) 2008 is one of the last 400 or so imported. 2009s are reputed to be just 2008s using up the chassis.

do you know if those 09's had too have all the VIN's changed to correspond to the correct year or were they sold as 09 with o8 VIN?

VIN numbers were not changed at all.

 

What's the build date on your '09? Vin has the 9 in it? I've always wondered when the VIN was stamped on the firewall. Appears to be post primary paint and before clear coat from how sharp the lettering is and with no rust in the shiny numbers.

Trivia and rumors are interesting at times.
