Default Hello All

Hi guys, finally posting here. After owning several Nissans (s13,s14,Z32tt) and other makes, I now own a s2000. It is a 2001 Silverstone with a black and red interior. It has 77,000 miles on it and for the most part is in good condition. I bought it at an Insurance Auto Auction because of its salvage title. It just needs a new door and rocker panel (see pics). It also has an Inline Pro turbo kit, but the car does not currently run. It has an AEM EMS but was removed. So now it has a stock ecu, but not the original one so it will not start due to the immobilizer/transponder issue. It will be reprogrammed soon.

Now I am stuck at a crossroads. I am debating selling the turbo kit as I could use the extra $$ to finish the car nicely and have some $$ left over. Or do I keep it, go into more debt and hope for the best?

Anyways, I am here to learn and any advice is welcome!

-George

Thanks All!

Welcome. I hope that's all it needs... I wish you well.
IMO, I would just work with what I got (and restore the turbo to working condition). I don't think you're going to get that much out of it (the turbo kit) to really make it worth it. I guess that if you really don't want it at all, see what you can get for it and go back to stock. I know that I will be looking for a turbo or SC when my ESP runs out.

funny how the ap1 s2000 gets totaled 'cause of anything, like the dented door or seats being stolen...

Yea, the fix isnt too bad. The rocker panel is a PITA due to the 63 spot welds I must remove, then same goes to the donor rocker I have.

If I have the patience and money to let the car sit for a few weeks while gather up an engine management system, I may hold on to the turbo. Though my set up wont be anything too spectacular. An e-manage looks to be the way right now.

Keep the suggestions coming!

i agree with TYM2FLY ... just keep the turbo because you probably wont get as much for it and get a new door and fix the dent

Well I already got the door and rocker panel.

My main concern is having more down time tuning the turbo and just other shenanigans that come along with boost.

Do you guys think the Greddy Blue e-manage will suffice for 7psi and a real conservative tune?

Minimum would be a Greddy eManage Ultimate so you can adjust timing too.

But seriously...look at picking up an EMS...even used.

As long as you do the repairs right it'll be a nice ride. Keep the boost ftmfw.

keep the boost. The AEM EMS is really the way to go if you ask me. Secind choice would be the emanage ultimate. Good luck with the repairs man.

Thanks guys, I know EMS is the best out there, but my current dilemma is that I will not be able to swing that much $$.

I think Greddy Ultimate will have to do the trick for now.
