Default Hello all! New S2000 owner with some questions :)

Good afternoon all,

My name is Dave from the UK and I have just bought my first S2000! First thoughts are, I love it! After moving from a Honda Civic Type R I didn't think I would notice much difference but the driving experience of the S2 is amazing!

I've only had the car two weeks and after having to replace a caliper in week one I have since installed some new speakers and a sub box.

I will probably be spending a lot of time on the forum as I intend to do lots to my car to make it my own

I'll keep it short and sweet for now as I'm sure I'll be hassling you all for help at a later date!! However, for now I have a few questions and some pictures below if anyone could please assist.

1. When removing the hard top, which does not have the standard quick release system, we had to remove three bolts. Getting them out was easy but when it came to putting them back in to keep them safe it appears that the layer of metal on top of where the threads are has shifted to the extent where we could not get the bolts in! Any ideas on how to fix this/ why it happened? I've added some photos of the bolts holes and brackets below and it is behind the driver's side seat (RHD) if that helps...?

2. When revving the engine, everything sounds normal but as the revs decrease back to idle the engine seems to hesitate for a second. Is this normal, or if not, does anyone know the cause/fix of this?

Thanks for looking! Any comments or assistance would be greatly appreciated!

Here are some photos of the car

Here is the bracket for the hardtop:

And here are the bolt holes on the car behind the seat which are misaligned:

Thanks again everyone!

Welcome, Dave! What a beauty! Wish I could help with your hardtop questions. You might poke around in the Under The Hood (UTH) section about that rev hang issue; that doesn't sound normal. Good luck and again, welcome!
