I would make sure to take a thorough test drive and listen and feel for anything odd.
Take a look around to see how the previous owner took care of the car. Besides that, it is a Honda so there shouldn't be any issues. Good luck! I've always wanted a Civic Type R. Too bad they weren't available for the U.S.

 

I would post in your local UK community and see if you can get a member who knows the s2000 well enough to go with you. A second opinion is always a good idea.
