On my winter beater, I find that I have to watch myself so that I don't grab for the non-existent 6th.; that'd be reverse on the 5spd!
It doesn't have reverse lockout?

No. Well, not to my knowledge, anyway, as I've never made that mistake.

Tomato... CPO is certified pre-owned, i.e., a Honda dealer is supposed to go through a checklist. Comes down to your trust in the dealer network (which, frankly, is fairly mixed around the s2ki board, BTW).

Wow, 6'6", eh? You'll be a tight fit with the top up. There is a modification some folks have done to lower the seat a tad -- that might be a good one for you to look into.
Is this a modification to the stock seats? Is it simple and reversable? I'm interested in a lower setting. Please share more info.

As I recall, it's not simple to do, and it's not reversible. Yes, it's for the stock seats.

I've not done it myself, but you might be able to locate the thread(s) in the S2000 Talk forum via the s2ki search. If not, just post there and ask if someone can point you to it/them. Then, you can decide for yourself if it looks good for you.

Good luck.

Well, I'll be damned. I just checked this in my 10 year old Sidekick (bought new), and it does INDEED have a lockout. I have no idea how it works, but you cannot shift directly from 5th to reverse. Good to know! Thanks for asking!

I was gonna say man not having a lockout sucks, they've been putting that on cars since the 60s maybe even before. I'mnot exactly sure how it works either, but I think it has to do with the car is moving and it spins a gearset in such a way that it prevents reverse from being an option.

Nope, it works just rowing through the gears while stationary. Anyway, enough about my POS (but great) Sidekick.

I took my neighbor for a test ride/drive. He is 6'4". Unless someone at 6'6" has virtually all his height in his torso, I have a hard time imagining any kind of acceptable fit in an S2. My neighbor had the seat all the way back, with the seat back quite upright, and still had his knees rubbing against the steering wheel. He really enjoyed the handling and feel of the car, but couldn't see himself able to spend more than 30 minutes or so behind the wheel whthout feeling pinned inside the car.

Yup it was definately tight, had about an inch and half of extra headroom and my knees were about 3 inches from the dash. It's slightly tighter than my transam.
