Default Hello folks, had my first real drive in an S2000..

Well I drove an S2000 a few years ago when they were new. It was decent, but it wasn't might it wasn't even my friends, it was a friend of a friends. So I didn't beat on it at all when I drove it. A friend of mine told me to go drive one where I could really drive the car so I went to my local honda dealer and test drove a 2000 model with 4600 miles...thats NOT a typo FORTY SIX HUNDRED! The car was in awesome shape. Well I drove it and the whole time the salesman is like go ahead, run it to redline, so finally I did on numerous occassions. I was pleasantly surprised not only with the power while above 6k but also the power lower in the powerband was actually very usable. So that brings me here, the S2000 is now tops on my list for my next car. Still probably about 18 months to 2 years out, but man I want one bad now! Only bad thing about the car is I'm 6ft6 so it was pretty tight, not much tighter than my transam but tight nonetheless. So I'm here to learn, to read, to hang out and get a feel for the community. So hello guys and gals

Welcome, I'm new myself.

So how much did the dealer want for that car? Was it a demo or something?

Theres a CPO MY00 S2K at a dealer in MA with 7000 miles, registered for personal use.. so low miles is not unheard of.

CPO is excellent. Peace of mind.

Low miles is good, 6 speed, but if I were you I'd ensure a compression test is done and it never hurts to drain and look at the car's fluids to see how things are.

Wow, 6'6", eh? You'll be a tight fit with the top up. There is a modification some folks have done to lower the seat a tad -- that might be a good one for you to look into.

Best wishes!

They wanted 21k for it, it was a personal car, owned by some folks at grand lake.

The seat mod sounds interesting!

When I said "6 speed" I was referring to 6SpeedTA95's s2ki username!

Yes, every single solitary S2000 was shipped from Japan with a (fantastic) 6 speed transmission.

On my winter beater, I find that I have to watch myself so that I don't grab for the non-existent 6th.; that'd be reverse on the 5spd!
