Hello from Oklahoma City!
Hello everyone! I am so glad to finally be able to introduce myself on here! My name is John Thomas. I am currently 19 and have been a avid s2000 enthusiast since I was 8 years old ever since I first rode in one. I have now graduated high school and am currently working at Dell. My hard work has paid off and now it's time for me to own my first s2000.
I have been shopping around for the past few days and have looked at several cars. This one is currently the one I am mostly interested in after heavily inspecting it and test driving.
It's a 2001 with 78,000 miles and mostly stock. It does have a AP2 soft top on it that is still fairly new. I ran the car fax and the car has been wreck once before and it was reported as damage to the front passenger side of the car. In person I was able to tell that it was wrecked in that area but only due to that wheel being noticeably scratched up compared to the rest, however the body did reflect a proper repair job. This car in person is very clean. A few nicks here and there on the paint from everyday driving nothing major. The car drove perfectly straight as well.
The only thing I questioned was while I was driving down a town street at about 40-45mph in 6th gear when I would let off the gas it did almost feel like there was a slight hum in the rear. I wasn't to sure if that was possibly caused by me being so low in the rpm band and coming off of the throttle.

Currently he is asking 11,000 for it. Please feel free to give me any opinions and criticism. I am so happy that soon I will get to fully join this family.

Welcome.

Humming is usually related to wheel bearings. I suggest you inform him that and offer him a lower price to help you pay for the wheel bearing replacement. Best of luck.
