Default Hey- considering an AP1

Hey.

I used to have RX7s when I was a bit younger, always liked the S2K's, and I've been wanting something fun in addition to my DD (2012 Altima Coupe 3.5SR). I used to have a motorcycle, but some prick kid hit me and ran me over, but I didn't die so I think I'm gonna get back in a semi-cage. I have read up on and done some homework on what to look for and buy, but I would like some of your opinions on this high mileage AP1: https://orlando.craigslist.org/cto/5954065536.html

I'm handy and don't mind a project, and I think the above is a pretty good deal. With my RX7s I'd drive them and when shit was wearing out or broken just upgrade it. I'd probably do the same with this. Again it would be more of a toy/project that I'd probably auto-x a little bit... the FWD DD is too damn boring.

Thanks in advance and I look forward to learning more about these cars.

203,000 miles would be my concern. Is the convertible roof in the car and usable? I find the car to be claustrophobic with the roof up or a hard top on the car.

Some of these cars have been super/turbocharged and then restored to normal induction. This adds stress to the engine.

For that price point, I've seen people get a sub 120k mile for less than 10k US. Better off saving a bit more for a lower mileage, cleaner, car. Take your time, there are plenty of clean examples out there still. Educate yourself as much as possible on what to look for when buying an s2000. Read the under the hood thread here. See YouTube channel s2kijax for a Buyers guide on the s2000.

I dont see any problems with the car that is posted for sale. 203k miles is alright, I've seen many S2ks over 200k miles. With that being said educate yourself on what to look for and what questions to ask. After that go check it out, its a Honda don't let miles scare you away.
