Default Hey everyone!

Hi, I'm Jamie.....I'm 16 and I am currently a member of www.club3g.com I own a Mitsubishi Eclipse right now. However I have a potential buyer for it. If everything go's through then I will be purchasing a Honda S-2000. The one I am looking at has water damage and 106,000 miles for 9,900 dollars. The other I am looking at is recovered from theft, has everything replaced 2004(34,000) for 14,900. If everything go's well I will be buying the newer one. However if things sour I will buy the older one and replace whatever it needs. Nice to meet everyone! I'll post pics when/if I get the car!

Go with the newer one. Just don't buy one with water damage, whatever you do. Good luck

Thanks for your suggestions. If I have enough money I will deff. buy the newer one. However if I only have 14,000 and I can't get the newer one how much would it cost to replace the motor or something of that nature?

I concur with everyone to get the newer one. Given the expenses relating to update, repair and/or replace many items on the water damaged one may cost more that buying the newer one. Plus, it is always a good idea in life to consider the resale value of the cars you may own.

Good luck. I just got my s2k and I am 53 yrs old. Always loved the looks and the handling reminds me of the go cart I built over 40 years ago. If it was a middle age thing, I would have bought a vette instead!

I know the guys daughter and she just said he'd give it to me for 13,500 and i've not even came down there to look at the car. I say if i brought 12,000 cash he might do the deal. If I can get enough money I will def. get the newer one. Thanks everyone!

Jamie, this car is going to cost you a whole lot more money than you expect... At 16, I can't even imagine what your insurance will be.

I recommend waiting until you have some money put aside. Just my opinion.

In addition to the cost of maintaining the proper amount of insurance coverage, I believe that the performance of this car coupled with the fact that most other drivers of the same age driving some old detroit car with a v8 will always want to race you to see how fast the s2k's 4 cylinder vtec engine will perform against them. Unless you have a tremendous amount of self restraint, you may find yourself receiving a few speeding tickets, perhaps and exhibition of speed ticket, and/or drag racing ticket. These violations are very serious in terms of keeping your drivier's license. A conviction for racing will likely cause your insurance company to drop you as a customer. Securing SR22 Bonds for insurance to cover our state's requirement are very costly.

If you desire to save any signifiant amount of money during high school and college, I recommend you postpone your acquisition of an s2k until you are fully employed with little debt.

Just my opinion of course.
