Hey, my names Joe!
Hey, as the title says... my name is Joe. To get down to it, I have always loved the look and design to the S2000's and always wanted to get my hands on one and get one built. In recent time I've had the opportunity to purchase one, and although knowing little about Honda's because prior to this I was a stock Dodge nerd, I was wondering where to start and what to do? I want to build this to be a reliable, ~450-500whp car that will put down and eventually I'd like to do some work on the exterior as well. I never had work done on any cars and I truly do not know where to begin. Can shops do the work, help out, etc or do you have to do it all yourself? If anyone could help me out I'd appreciate it!
Also, I bought a 2007 S2000 !!!!

Hey man! Congrats on the car!
To answer a few of your questions, you can do both! There are plenty of competent shops all across the US but i definetly recommend you find either a Honda specialist or S2000 specialist in your area if you can. If not, any car shop that works on primarily track vehicles will have decent knowledge and can get you started. You can alternativly work on this car yourself. As it being a Honda, these are incredibly easy to wrench on yourself compared to any USDM car.
450-500whp is actually pretty easy with this car. many people are running that kind of power on the stock block so theres no point in building the engine. Its actually recommended against building the engine as the F22C is designed very carefully and meticulously and a lot of what make it great are usually stripped away when people attempt a build. I believe theres only one shop in the US that has managed to make a built block that has lasted a decent amount of time. This kind of power is pretty achievable with a turbo setup and E85. You can also run a Supercharger and E85 if thats more to your liking, but a turbo kit will make the power easier. The nice thing about getting a 2007, is that the OEM ECU is tubable, so you dont have to waste money purchasing an AEM ECU to be tuned,
Either way, have fun with the car!
