Hey, my names Joe!
Hey, as the title says... my name is Joe. To get down to it, I have always loved the look and design to the S2000's and always wanted to get my hands on one and get one built. In recent time I've had the opportunity to purchase one, and although knowing little about Honda's because prior to this I was a stock Dodge nerd, I was wondering where to start and what to do? I want to build this to be a reliable, ~450-500whp car that will put down and eventually I'd like to do some work on the exterior as well. I never had work done on any cars and I truly do not know where to begin. Can shops do the work, help out, etc or do you have to do it all yourself? If anyone could help me out I'd appreciate it!
Also, for anyone wondering I bought a 2007.
If anyone questions why I posted this in two subforums, I originally meant to post it in this one and couldn't figure out how to delete this on the other.

Have a look at my threat "A quick hello" which is a few threads down right now. Im about done with my 07 build. It has a reliable 427whp from a KW Supercharger which was installed by LHT performance in Florida. All the details are in my thread. You can try and email them at LHT on their thoughts on trying to get closer to 500whp reliably. They have a ton of forced induction s2k experience. I think tuning to 400 is prob most reliable and plenty of fun for this small vehicle.
Good luck and enjoy the car!

Yes shops do this sort of work. There are some goods ones, some very good ones, abd some very, very bad ones.
Sometimes a good one does something bad, and doesn't want to stand up to their mistake. A very good shop still makes an occasional mistake, but they stand up to it.
For the kind of power you are looking for, you'll need to go with Forced Induction. To reach those goals, you'll probably want to consider going Turbo. But my suggestion echos above. Go with Supercharged and aim for 400+. Its much easier to achieve and still reliable. Bolt on the system, get a tune. Done. Your advantage is you can use Flash pro since your ecu supports it. Much easier to tune.
Post your location so people can give you local shop recommendations.

Here's mine - LHT Has done prob close to 80 of these installs. I shipped my car down to them.
Gives you an idea of the kit... their youtube channel has a couple other KW Supercharger builds that have closer to 450hp. I think those had updated intake manifolds and larger superchargers.
