I used to be a member of this forum when I had a 2002 S2000. I sold it back in 2006 and bought a few different cars including an Evo IX. It was fun, but I sold it too. I missed the S2000. I'm looking to buy a new one right now. Hoping to buy one in the next month. I'm trying to figure out if I should get a 2003 or 2004. The 2004's look really nice, however the 2003's look just as nice when dressed up a bit with the front and rear spoilers and some new wheels. What are your opinions? Have the AP2's wonderful or are there any drawbacks to them over the AP1's?

Can't say much about the AP1 since I ony test drove one once; I certainly don't mind sacrificing 1K revs for a little more torque. I think if you are a true AP1 loyalist, you will not buy an AP2, atleast that's how its been for me.

 

I drove both back to back when I was on the hunt. Lots of opinions on the good and bad of each. I actually liked the look of the AP1 a little more, which seems contrary to popular opinion. MY03 seems to be the best of the AP1s, nice upgrades to interior, glass rear window, most of the bugs worked out, etc. The AP2s are also nice, a bit more comfortable but seemed to be less raw, at least to me. Also, the price seems to be right for AP1s, where as AP2s are a couple grand more. Whatever you decide, good luck and welcome back.
