Hoping to own my first Honda and first s2000
Hey everybody, looking to buy my first honda. Hoping to pick up a turbo'ed s2000. As of now I have a 2005 GTO. To start off with the lift of my first sports car. I bought it back in November of 2009. Within 2 weeks of owning it I had blown the head gasket messing around with a camaro on the highway. I replaced the gaskets and put a cam in. After that I got it tuned and it put down 430 RWHP. I then Blew my clutch with only 12,000 miles on it. Then my throttle body motor broke. Just when I thought nothing else could go wrong. After getting laid off my ignition cylinder locks up. My suspension needed completely replaced. The car doesn't like to maintain speed under 40 and bucks like your doing 3 MPH with the clutch fully engaged. Plenty of my friends have hondas and have no problems. My friend has an SI and my other one (angerman) had a 2007 SI and currently has a 2005 S2000. People usually say that going from a V8 to a honda will be painful due to the lack of low end torque. But I've driven both of these cars and love them. Hopefully one day I'll be able to own an s2000.
It's pretty funny that you have a GTO and that your name is Muscle Cars Blow. The GTO is a great car! A few of my friends have them...one has a 2006 with over 500WHP, that thing is a beast. But let me tell you something, you get a turbo'd S2000 and it will be faster than anything you've ever driven to. Honestly the only thing I can compare it to is a motorcycle, which is scary. If you're going for power, that's where you'll find it. Of course I've always stayed NA just because IMO it's not worth the money or the hassle, but it is fun. I don't care what car you're into, you can't deny how much fun an S2000 is to drive. I would definitely say to buy one, just keep in mind that it won't feel as fast if you stay virtually* stock.
* Virtually meaning not FI...don't think a header, exhaust, intake, etc. will do much for power/torque. Your best bet is getting some gears (and yes here we use 4.56, 4.77...unheard of in a GTO) cause it will give you some torque. Upgrades and modifications are a great idea but they won't give you all of the staggering numbers in WHP you'll be getting with a V-8.

lately iv been wanting a new mustang 5.0 lol...
i love the ls motors...look how much power you made with the cam. I am envious. You will love the s2000 though. It's such an amazing car and compares to nothing else i'v driven. The way this thing cuts corners is amazing. I got use to it after a while then I drove an si which is still a great handling car but it feels nothing close to the s2k

Sure the dyno numbers look good. But compared to a Honda making 400 whp the driveability isn't even compareable. I'd rather stay inside then even think about driving in rush hour. It's miserable in a modded domestic. But as far as daily driving it's fine when you can keep the car moving. Plus I just did a header on my friends SI and it was cake compared to squeezing long tubes past my steering column.

rush hour sucks in a turbo s2k as well, unless you aren't running enough power to need a beefed up clutch.
