Talking I am finally an S2000 owner : )

This is my first post here, but I've been trolling the boards a bit for a little while. I just got my 2004 Sebring w/red black interior on the day before Thanksgiving. Great car!

My last car was a very clean 1996 Civic EX 2-dr (sold 2 yrs ago). I loved it because I learned about car maintenance with it. I was 23 and installed a few mods for fun/learning (intake, catback, front lip). It was a pretty solid grocery getter, but I was getting older and just felt absolutely embarrassed with such a loud catback. I realized I was appearing to be just another boy-racer with a civic, and I dislike boy-racers (and ricers). (it was stolen in 2006 after 3 yrs of ownership)

So after 2 yrs of being car-less (I take mass transit to work), I'm now 30 so it was time for me to move on. This is my first RWD car and it's beautiful (I love the sebring). I've been looking to get this for a few years now so here I am : ) Last night, the air was cool so I was top-down, driving the backroads. It was my most enjoyable drive ever. What a step-up from the Civic! Some of you guys are complaining about lack of torque....this is actually enough for me. The acceleration is plenty quick and enough to make me smile with satisfaction.
I just want to cruise top-down and drive on some twisty roads

To top it off, I just got in on a $500 6-mo premium with GEICO (clean record + high credit score). In about a year, once the theft incident from the Civic "disappears", it'll drop to around $428, according to GEICO. Sweet.

The next things I'm going to do include:

-getting seat locks and stickers (are the stickers still being sold by SenseiRick?)
-considering a kill switch
-considering an alarm (though alarms don't seem very effective)

Drive responsibly. Enjoy.

Welcome...I just picked up my first S2K 2 weeks ago. It's also my first convertible so I share the same enthusiasm of driving with the top down.

I came from a 435rwhp Z06 though, but I don't miss the power...the S2K is plenty fun in stock form!

Thanks all! It's great to hear from people that love their S2Ks.

MattZ28, how long did you have your Z06 before deciding to let it go? Moving to an S2K says quite a bit (unless you were just trying to "downgrade"). Congrats on getting yours !

Coming from a relatively uninspiring '96 Civic EX, it's easy to see why I'm quite happy with my new car. One of the first things I noticed when I first drove the S2K was that it just feels so confident on the road. It's got that great planted, center-of-the-road feel and I love the steering and transmission, as well as the high quality construction of the interior.

It's just a pure car built with passion and purpose.

My only concern is theft. Sigh. Lame thieves and stupid ricers....they think putting S2000 seats in their crap Civics/Integras makes their car better. They need to realize that in the end, it is still just a Civic. Ricers are such a public eyesore and the bad thing is, they don't even realize it.

Enjoy the car. If theft is a concern park it in a safe spot and/or buy a good alarm.

I don't leave my car on the street for very long.

Where are you?

Hi rob-2. Yeah, it's in a safe spot in a very good neighborhood with many cops on patrol.

I'm having a hard time finding out if SenseiRick still sells those stickers for the seat locks....
