The valve cover is red, like the OEM ones. But it doesn't say VTEC on it. It is just a plain red cover with no wording.

I'll try to take a picture of it.

Scot,

Are you saying that the "VTEC" that is displayed on the OEM valve cover is simply a removable name plate?

Thanks.

All around it was a better financial decision. Lesser payment and I'll be getting some money back.

The S is so much more fun to drive than my Z. I loved the instant punch of the Z on the low end, but it just ALWAYS felt heavy. I could never get over that feeling.

And the engine was pretty much maxed out without going F/I. It would have taken me another few grand to get 30 more whp.

Love the heritage, the look, and the response of the Z. But in the end, it wasn't what I wanted out of a car.
Well, if it is the car you want and you aren't losing any money, then have fun!

Here is a picture of my engine bay:

The piece which says VTEC is completely gone? Is there something else in place or can you see the spark plug wires.

Valve cover looks exactly the same only without the black VTEC plate.

But no exposed wires. I'll check when I get off to make sure there is nothing exposed.

Crap, the owner must not have checked the VTEC option box.

Hey guys,

Thanks for all the helpful information. You guys addressed all my questions. I'm glad that this kind of resource exists for s2k owners.

I just wanted to follow up to the remaining question yesterday:

As far as the what is in place of the black "VTEC" plate....there is simply a non-descript silver plate in its place. The silver piece is thin and without wording of any kind.

Scot,

Are you still interested in selling your extra "VTEC" plate? I am definately in the market for one. I'll PM you so as not to turn this into a buy/sell post.

Thanks again guys!!

Tristan

Any differences between the AP2 and AP1 cover?
