Default Im stuck!

Hello,

I am a new member on here and also the proud owner of a 2000 s2000, I have only had it a couple of weeks and wondered if some of you could help me out.

Im quite technically minded by nature but I have a few problems with my new car and need some help as I would be keen to fic them myself.

First of all, after using the light socket and a portable air pump, after a few minutes the pump failed. It worked on another car so there must be a fault on my s2000. The stereo has also stopped working right after the pump. I have checked both the radio and socket fuses under the steering wheel but they are ok. Where else could I look and should a fault with the socket cause the radio to also fail?

I also have some rattles from the roof that are, already starting to get to me! It would be great to hunt them down. One particular one behind the drivers seat. I have looked into the spare wheel bay, toolkit etc but its all secure, does the plastic panel under where the roof is stowed when down come loose?

i have also found two very small, slight tears in the hood and wondered if there was anyway to fix these rather than the cost of a new hood?

Sorry for all the questions on my first post, just really lookign forward to making my car the best it can be. Its just awesome to drive.

Thanks for your time and I hope you cna help.

Kind regards,

Erj 145

You probably lost the constant power/Accessory fuse - keep checking.

Not sure what you mean by tears in the hood? The hood is metal, do you mean the top?

Agreed with checking fuses again, if you have a multimeter or even a test light but one lead to chasis ground and carefully probe the very center of your port. If you get no voltage you will know that you have a fuse blown somewhere. Id like to hear what other people have done with there tops as well. I plan on sewing and using some black silicone on the inside to seal. Welcome from another new guy,

I almost had the same tears in mine but I got to them before they got worse.I just patched them with a peice of vinyl backed cloth and some rtv. Its been holding up well so far. The reason why it happens is the sharp edges on the hinges. Do a search on here and you will see what I mean.
