Introduce yourself here!
Jamie,
The only change in body style occurred (in US/Can) in 2004. Front and rear bumper changes occurred. Also, in 2002, the ragtop changed to allow a glass rear window.
There are no different body shapes/styles, as there is only a small list of dealer options. Among them, if you want to count these, are a wing spoiler for the trunk, a front lip (extentsion of the bumper), and side strakes. These are essentially bolt-ons by the dealer.
Hope that helps.

By 2002, most of the kinks were worked out in the original design. Make sure your spark plug recall was done, and I'm sure you'll love your car.

Hello all,
New member here - been looking at many a car for the last few months ever since I sold my 2003 Maxima.
That was a really nice car, but I have been looking at something much sportier. After looking at my options in both price range/mileage and availability, I believe that the S2000 will fit the bill nicely. There are a few of the ones I am specifically interested in (Silverstone on Red) around my area - all are 2001 models with about 30k miles on them. People are asking $20,000 OBO. Should I offer $18,000 and see what happens (I know KBB is around $19,000)? Also, there are some 2002 models with about the same mileage (20-30k) that are going for around $21-22; would a 2001 with more miles but less money be a better buy, or should I look for a 2002+ model, even if it would be 2-3k more?
Thanks, and glad to be here!

In 2002 they got a couple notable improvements. A glass rear window, improved radio, leather console, and a different shift knob to name a few. To me the improvements were worth paying a couple thousand more, others may not think the changes are worth the money it's all up to you.

The rear for MY00-01 is a plastic impeller. Which i guess is basically a stronger plastic. One thing to think about would be if you would be interested in a hardtop. Instead of goin with the MY 02+ which is with a REAR GLASS WINDOW you can just pick up a hardtop and ride out with hardtop on or hardtop off. hardtops are roughly 2500+ excluding installation kits and what not.
don't forget that there are more tsb's for the 00-01 than the 02-03. i would say, go with the 02+. you'll come across some with average mileage for about $20k. you just gotta keep looking and be patient for the right deal to come up. shoot, just look in the ' for sale' section. there's an 04 ap2 going for $21500. that's a steal if you ask me.
