Yeah; you're definitely not the first to make the transition from the beloved 1st gen Miata to the S2000. It's quite a change, isn't it!
Welcome. And, as I warn all MY00 - MY03 owners, oil consumption is normal for our engine in varying degrees. Keep your eye on the dipstick at every fill up!

Welcome Erock. Congrats! On the MY02, be very careful to watch the oil dipstick at every fillup. MY00 - MY03 tend to burn oil (normal) and you don't want to let it get low.
Hello Everyone,
I just got a 2000 s2k silverstone with the black and red interior. I traded in my 2004 hyundai tiburon gt for this car. Some of my friends think i downgraded from a 2004 to a 2000. I think they are stupid because i love the s2k and i think it is better in every way than a tiburon. The s2k has only 29k on the car so any things i should look out for or suggestions i would appreciate it. This is my first honda and i really love it.
Thank you..

I bought my MY2000 S2k not quite two weeks ago and been playing around with it a bit and reading up on it a lot more.
One weird thing... it pulls about 3500 rpm in 6th gear at 65 mph with the stock tires (6th is 0.811?), which means I have something like a 4.91 rear gear? One other question- where did Honda hide the control box for the factory security system? I dont like the way it's set, but I can't find the damn thing to change it.

Hey whats going on all. i figured i'd introduce myself. Im Dustin, im 19 and am active duty in the us coast guard. im currently in michigan for another month. then i move to virginia. as of tomarrow i will own a 2000 NFR S2000. i spotted this site in my search for an s2k. so i hope to improve my knowledge here.
hi everybody. im new to the forum. i love s2000's and am trying desperately to buy one. i currently have a white 91 MR2 that im having trouble with, and am feed up with it. i was going to sell it in running condition but then it broke down on me so i guess its worth about $1,500 not running
but anyways now i cant afford to buy an S anymore
but hey, if every member of this forum could find it in their hearts to send me a dollar each then i'd be on my way....
well anyways it might be a few months until i save up the amount the not selling the MR2 set me back by (roughly $4000)
hope to soon be an S2000 owner!
