hi! very nice forum! i'm from the philippines and i just got my s2k last month. I think there's like less than 10 of those here, and as far as i know, i'm the only one with a US version (most everyone i know bought theirs from japan and had them converted to left-hand drive). checked the VIN no in carfax and found out the car came from florida. it's black and i just love it to death!

Hello to everyone at S2k international!
im a Huge Fan of the Site, and ive finally plucked down and joined. despite the fact that i dun have an S' yet.... but after at least 5monthes of falling in love with it, (upon finding out that Honda actually made a Hardtop for it) im really hoping to set my buyer's wheels in motion and add a car note to my life.
well, about me? well, imma guy whose a huge honda fan. my 'wants-to-buy' went CRX (till i found out they stopped making them), Civic Si [HB] 03 (up until they really did release the redesign [sweet!] but evryone n grandma bought one...), and now S2k (i think this car fits me)
big fan of the size and understated but efficient look. only true honda fans seem to kno wat it can do~ i love the secrecy of it all
um, well im an Artist, and i can do animation, so i can make sigs and help anyone wif any ideas they may have. i just dropped a bunch of emails to potential buys on autotrader in Ohio.
annndd my dream S2k is Yellow (partial to Gray, cus i think all Hondas look best gray, the dependable color lol), with a hardtop, no mods, maybe a body kit, to drive alll the time!! oh and upgraded sound system wif cd player that has USB jack on it... only seen one of those so far...
thats a really great feature, sooo much better than the muffled Aux input...

Welcome to the site, and best wishes on the hunt.
Interesting, I don't think we owners ever had any intent to keep the S2000 a secret, but AHM has always been peculiar about the marketing of the S. I believe that AHM has simply never known what to do with this car, so they just let things happen on their own. I can count on one (well, maybe two) hands all the print and TV advertising that they've done for the S2000. It is an interesting discussion.
Are you looking for a car with the exact mods you want? Sometimes that happens, but I think a better bet is to find one stock and then do the mods after you buy. That's one of the great things about this board is the DIY info and community groups which lead you toward good installers...
Good luck with your artwork. Just be aware that you're not allowed to sell stuff on s2ki.com's general forums unless you're a site sponsor. S2ki members are allowed to sell stuff in the for sale section.

Although the S2000 is probably a bit too expensive for me at the present time, I did see one advertised on autotrader.com not too far from me, so on Saturday I figured, "what the heck" and drove nearly an hour to get to see and drive it.
[SIZE=14]WOW!
[SIZE=1] What a car! The ONLY things I had an issue with were that the padded cover for the center console storage area is a bit too high, kind of gets in the way when I was shifting. And, of course, keeping track of which gear I was in. 6 speeds always do that to me, I can "remember" on a 5 speed...And, the rear window was kind of foggy. Not yellowed, but not really "clear" either. So, if things go right, and of course with the passage of time hopefully I'll be able to save up more money for a good down payment to make the eventual choice affordable. The one I drove was a '00, black model.

the hunt is just starting to really get underway. i dropped a bunch of emails via Autotrader, but noone got back. i guess im just a lil hyper yet and things wont really happen for a few days via emails. got bout 5 choices most of which shall take sum negotiation to get to my price range.
as far as mods, im def just lookin for stock. and itll be my daily driver, cus i feel its absurd to go from rear wheel back to front wheel and high speed braking and other such easy out manuevers. if i go FR, i stay FR.
yeah, glad u feel understated by the S's media advertising as well. i think its a very uncommon for such a revolutionary car (is it really true u can rev to the redline without real reprecussions due to the fuel cutoffs built into the Vtec engine?)
