Happy to say that using CarGurus alerts got me the dream car I’ve been looking for. Almost bought a 2006 NFR last year but missed out on it. Took some time off due to both kids in college but started the search again just a few weeks ago. Got an alert Thursday night that an 07 with 31,000 miles was in Raleigh but no details, pictures or what dealer. I sent a request through the app asking if it was available and got a response quickly. It was a trade in and I quickly made arrangements to come see it Saturday morning. My wife and I got there and it hadn’t even been cleaned up yet. Inspected it, drove it, came back and negotiated an offer which got me the car! After detailing I drove all the way home with the top down and it was everything I hoped it could be. Stopped at a rest area parked well away from everyone else and I had barely got out when an older gentleman came up admiring my car and I told him I had just bought it. We stood there 15 minutes discussing all things s2000 and the decline of the manual transmission.
Later got near my home and at a stoplight I noticed a white bmw behind me with a teen driver and his girlfriend. The girl was leaning forward talking and clearly excited while the guy was balancing his phone on his steering wheel taking pics of my car. He then gave me an enthusiastic thumbs up and I gave one back. Awesome that these kids understood what this car is and the importance in automotive history (most likely Fast and Furious) haha.
My profile pic is stopped at a gas station on a nice long back-country cruise with the wife. She finally “gets it” after 2 decades of me saying when the kids were out of the house I was getting a low mileage s2000 and we were going for drives to nowhere. She loves it too. I had a red 89 Prelude Si and sold it when we started having kids and I got a 2000 Toyota Tundra which had room for kids whereas the Prelude did not. Always regretted that and now the new ride has the power I wish the Prelude had.
I’ve been an S2Ki reader for information for over a year but now happy to say I’m part of the owner family now. Looking forward to getting more great info from you all and getting to know you.

Hi!
I am new here on the s2ki forum. I live in Sweden and have owned my ap1 for 8 years. I bought it all stock and have done most of the modifications to my chassis, bodywork and engine dress up. I use it on the track from time to time and to car meets.
