Hi Im new to the S2KI forums trying to work the site but im an owner of a 05 Grand prix White S2K love my car and anything that has to do with S2000's ive now had her for 5 years got her brand new.

Any advise on how to work the site would be great like posting a status hope to hear from other S2000 owners??

Hey everyone, just bought an AP2. I have been debating for awhile on which car to get, it was between an FD or AP2. I am happy so far with the S2K.

Hello I'm Nick, I'm in the orange county, california area.. don't have an s2k yet but I'm saving to get one! I'm planning to get a 2000 or 2001 s2k in october/november when I have enough. Is there anything I should look out for when checking one out? Like common problems or anything. Is there any special maintenance needed? or just the general stuff. Someone give me a ride in one (no homo)! I never been in one before but they look so nice! >.<

 

Hi, Nick! Yeah, the first couple of model years had a few bugs which is typical for any new model or design... which is why I opted to wait and get a 2002+ model. Common problems with early AP1s include clutch buzz, valve spring retainers cracking (if over-revved), wheel bearings going bad due to the rear axle nuts not being torqued down enough (this one actually applies to more than just 2000s and 2001s), excessive oil consumption and something about the oil jet bolts. TSBs were released to address some of these issues. If your is set on getting a 2000 or a 2001 model, you might delve deeper into the Under The Hood section.
