Default Just bought, already in shop :(

Just posted on this thread last night -> https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/107...ina-black-s2k/
Now shes already broken down and only with 62k miles. Previous owner must not have treated her well.
I heard a sort of farting and deep roar from the engine as i was merging on to the interstate. Check engine light came on and i pulled over. Small amounts of smoke was coming from the intake. I'm worried a valve came in contact with the piston and I'm going to be dropping way more into this car to get it fixed. Waiting for the shop to open up tomorrow to see what's the damage. Fingers crossed. Any insight on what could have happened?

I'm sorry to hear about this.

You should post in "Under the Hood" section. You should be able to get some ideas there.

Did you have a shop inspect it before you purchased it?

Thanks man. I'm already aware of what happened. Someone over torqued the spark plug and it made contact with the piston causing the spark plug shrapnel to go inside the piston housing. It's done. I either rebuild it or engine swap. I'm not savvy enough to rebuild it and the mechanics want WAYY too much to do it themselves. So, looks like I'm in the market for a used ap1 engine.

I did. They did not check the spark plugs though. A 3,000 dollar problem couldve been fixed with one simple spark plug
