Just bought my 2000 S2K this weekend
Hello all!
I've been reading these forums for awhile now and I'm very excited to announce that I am now an owner! I live in CO, but I had to drive to IA to get it. I paid $15,000. It's got 55k mi, new racing clutch, 3 sets of tires, blizzaks on the stock rims, hoosier racing tires for the stock rims, potenza summer tires on 18" kinesis forged rims. The paint, body & interior are all great. It's silver w/ red interior.
My trip back home was the first time I ever drove an S2K. The car far exceeded my expectations. What an awesome vehicle. Last car was a 2001 Celica GTS that I wanted to sell a month after I bought it. I don't think I'll be having the same feelings with regards to the Honda. I'm still in awe that this car is now in my garage. It's completely a dream come true.

I didn't like the Celica because it was too slow. I thought it handled great, but I didn't like how you couldn't get any sort of passing speed out of the car. If I was driving up a hill, which I do a lot in Colorado, I could maintain whatever speed I used at the start of the hill, but if someone pulled out in front of me or if I tried to pass someone the car just wouldn't go. It just didn't have any oomph.
I also bought it for all the wrong reasons. I thought I would be able to use it as a year round car, but it sucked in the snow, my dog hated the slippery back seat and it wasn't a true sports car, which is why I bought it.
Now I have a Mazda MPV minivan for the dog and the snow and for the same price that I paid for my Celica I have a good looking car and the power to back it up.
