Default Just bought my first S2000!

Hello everyone. Back in 2010 I drove a friends 2000 S2k and didn't know what a gem it was. All I knew was I put on 1000 miles in a week and didn't tell her... Fast forward 4 years and I decided to sell my 2009 STI and buy a car that was more fun. There was only 2 options the new BRZ/FRS or the S2000. After reading this awesome review of the S2k vs. RX8 vs. FRS it was settled.

http://everydaydriver.com/episodes/m...v-rx8-v-s2000/

On Friday I bought a 2003.

Some people might think I am nuts for selling the STI which I bought new and pampered meticulously. But really, the STI felt like a lead weight compared to the memories of how nimble the S2k was.

One thing I am worried about though is what might break on this car. It has 86,000 miles on it and was owned by 2 other people. The last guy was an engineer and had all the maintenance done by shops. But still, I kinda dove into ownership without looking into what weak points the AP1 has.

Could anyone chime in with things that I should be replacing and how often? Or perhaps with known fixes to things that fail often?

I would like to keep this car for as long as possible, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks everyone!

David

If you are wondering why my profile is "BrokeMyCar" and have been a member since 2010, it's because I ended up breaking her s2K and had to find a replacement "strake" super fast. It was worth it...

Thanks. It definitely has some wear and the Invidia exhaust is a megaphone of drone... I will be putting it back to stock with the help of someone who wants to trade plus some cash.

Why do you think it's the best year? I like the idea that the internals are forged, but other then that, it's super tail happy.

This thing is like my Spec Miata but with more power than the tires can handle...
