At long last...
I've always liked the S2000 since I first saw one at an autocross in 2000. In 2003 my first taste behind the wheel sealed the deal - I had to have one, some day. In 2005 one of my old roommates bought a Spa 2001, and in '06 my other roommate bought a Silverstone '01. I think my enthusiasm for the car rubbed off on them.
I'm a bit late to the party, but I think this'll make up for it... here she is:

I've posted more pictures in the Gallery forum.
The other day I drove the Silverstone AP1 back-to-back with my AP2 to see the differences firsthand. Have to say the AP1 has better clutch feel and upshifts. The former I hope can be fixed by removing the AP2's clutch delay valve. The latter appears to be due to the AP2 engine not dropping revs in the middle of an upshift. I don't know whether it's an ECU/emissions thing or if something is wrong with mine. I don't remember hearing anything about the AP2 having a heavier flywheel. Anyway it makes a lot more work for the clutch and synchros having to 'force' the revs down for the next higher gear. Downshifts, however, are sublime.
Hate to say it but the AP1 rides smoother too. I would guess the extra harshness comes from the low-profile 17" tires.
This is the 7th car I've owned. Would you believe it's my first one with cupholders? And cruise control?
Playing with the cruise on the 4 hour drive home was fun. Press a button and the car accelerates with verve. How odd!

Awesome decision...your car looks sick! My second choice would have been red. I also feel the way you do about how the AP1 drives and rides...but the AP2 looks a lot meaner and just think, many AP1 drivers modify their cars to look like AP2's, and you don't have to do any of those mods
. But seriously, good luck and be safe
